Another Davidson Wildcat joins 2018 Tom Sox Roster – Jaret Lacagnina

The 2018 Charlottesville Tom Sox welcome Jaret Lacagnina, sophomore LHP at Davidson College.  The 6’0; 170 pounder is from from Naples, FL.

While Lacagnina only made 4 appearances for the Wildcats as a freshman, he had a huge summer playing in our league for the Winchester Royals.  He made 15 appearances; all in relief; threw 26 innings pitched; had 28 strikeouts; only 10 walks; 2.08 ERA.  For his efforts, Lacagnina was recently named by All Things Valley League as the 11th best relief pitcher in the league for 2017.

Jaret had this to say about joining the Tom Sox “I want to thank the Royals for a great summer in 2017 and for allowing me to play in Charlottesville in 2018.  I’m so appreciative, but also so excited to be joining a first class organization that has a rich history with our Davidson program.”

From Tom Sox GM Jeff Burton “There’s no secret that we love our players from Davidson. Coaches Cooke, Taylor and Munger do such a great job of preparing their guys to compete. Every player maintains such high standards on both the field and in the classroom. Jaret is no exception. He competes his tail off and he does so in a role that every team needs…left handed pitching out of the bullpen in those tough late innings.  We will see what role he plays for Davidson this Spring and we will adjust as necessary however we love the idea that he has experience and to us, is such a well known commodity.”

“We also want to thank the leadership at Winchester for allowing us to sign Jaret.  He wanted to play for us, as so many of his teammates have.  Winchester was very gracious in allowing him to come to our organization.”

Welcome aboard, Jaret!
