The 2018 Charlottesville Tom Sox welcome VCU sophomore RHP Hayden Moore. Moore is from the Richmond, VA area and played at perennial power Hanover HS.
The 6’0, 185 pounder saw plenty of action in his freshman year. In 21 appearances, Moore had a 2.96 ERA in 24.1 innings pitched; and struck out 14. After his freshman campaign, Moore played locally in the Piedmont Collegiate Baseball League where he was named the MVP of the league’s playoffs when he both pitched and slugged (yes, he can hit a little bit) his team to the championship.
“I can’t wait for a great experience on and off the field with the Tom Sox. Everything I’ve heard from my VCU teammates who’ve been in Charlottesville has been positive.”
From Tom Sox GM Jeff Burton “Like we said about Zach Ching, we just love getting guys from Coach Stiffler’s VCU program. Similar to Mike Dailey and Connor Gillispie last summer, Hayden Moore will come with the talent; the experience of someone who’s been in big games; and the foundational lessons taught by a great college coaching staff. Coming from nearby…the Richmond area…Hayden should feel right at home. We understand how important comfort level is with these summer players.”
Welcome to the Tom Sox, Hayden.
