The 2018 Charlottesville Tom Sox welcome University of Richmond sophomore Right-Handed Pitcher and Outfielder Tim Miller. From Wayne, PA, the 6’3, 210 pounder projects to be a big arm in the weekend rotation for the Spiders as well as a potential starter in the outfield.
Miller saw limited innings on the mound in his freshman season due to some arm issues that are now cleared up. At the plate, he had 41 ABs and batted .293.
Miller had this to say about playing here: “I’m excited to be part of a team coming off a championship and add to the winning culture of the Tom Sox. I love Virginia and have spent time in the Shenandoah Valley. I can’t wait to call it home for a summer. My teammates who have played in Charlottesville have loved their experiences from host families to the baseball to the friendships they developed with players from all over the nation.”
From Tom Sox GM Jeff Burton: “We’ve had so many exemplary Richmond players in our first 3 years. To a man, they all felt like Tim Miller was the next great Spider to follow in their footsteps. He’s a draftable arm on the mound and should have a big role for them this Spring, but he’s also a middle of the lineup type bat. We will give him the opportunity to do both for our ball club. Thanks to Coach Woodson for his trust in our organization to send us his best.”
Welcome to the Tom Sox, Tim Miller.
