Sal Bashioum – Pitching Coach (Thiel College)

Sal Bashioum, who is entering his 1st year at ThielĀ  as head assistant coach, came from Bethany College where he was an assistant coach and the head pitching coach with the Bison for two seasons.

With the Bison and Tomcats , Bashioum mentored three All-PAC pitchers including 2015 All-PAC First Team selection Zac Edmiston as well as two-time All-PAC selection Ryan Bisi, all while manning staffs with 6 PAC pitchers of the week.

Bashioum also has an experienced summer coaching resume after serving as the head coach of the Genesee Rapids of the New York Collegiate Baseball League and the Conway Cadets of the Beach Collegiate Baseball League in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in 2015 and 2016 where he lead the Cadets to the 2015 Costal Division playoffs.

Bashioum is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association and is a certified functional fitness instructor by the American Sports and Fitness Association.

Bashioum earned a master’s degree in higher education from Bethany College in 2016. He received a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications from Seton Hill University in 2013. A pitcher at both the Division II and Division I levels, Bashioum has competed in three NCAA Baseball Championship Tournaments and appeared in 72 games on the mound in his career.

Bashioum now resides in Greenville Pennsylvania and was a resident of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania prior to roaming the dugout with the Tomcats.
