The 2018 Charlottesville Tom Sox welcome Patrick McColl, 6’6; 215 pound, 1st Baseman from Harvard University.
In 2017, the junior left-handed hitter batted .355 with 6 home runs and 36 RBIs for the Crimson. He had an on-base percentage of .459 and a slugging percentage of .621. He was named 2nd Team All-Ivy League. McColl is a fantastic defender, and his 6’6 frame is one to which our infielders will love throwing.
From GM Jeff Burton “we hunted this sought after, accomplished player from Harvard. Patrick is so well regarded by all who know him. On and off the field, he is an exemplary young man. We are looking forward to him manning 1st Base for us and Apex, such a valuable intern partner for us, can’t wait to have him around next summer.”
The Los Altos, CA native played in the New England Collegiate Baseball League this past summer.
McColl said “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to play with some of the top college baseball talent in the country, and I have heard great things about the Tom Sox organization as a whole. I’ll also be interning with Apex Clean Energy in the mornings before games. I can’t wait to come to Charlottesville and win another championship for the Tom Sox this summer.”
Welcome to the Tom Sox, Patrick McColl.
