Tom Sox add another VCU Ram to 2018 Tom Sox – Zac Ching

The 2018 Charlottesville Tom Sox are excited to announce that VCU’s Zac Ching, a 5’10; 175 pound; junior; middle infielder from Lubbock, TX will be playing with us this coming summer.

In 2017, Ching had 220 ABs; batted .286 with 14 Doubles, 3 HRs and 40 RBIs.  He started all 57 games for the Rams, splitting his time almost equally between shortstop and 2nd base.

Last summer, he played for the Pennisula Pilots (Norfolk VA) in the Coastal Plains League.

Zac had this to say about playing in Charlottesville next summer, “Everyone has told me that the overall experience of being in Charlottesville is 2nd to none, and I know from speaking with my coaches and guys like Mike Dailey, Connor Gillispie and Haiden Lamb that there is a winning culture around this Tom Sox program.  I know we are going to have a great summer.”

From GM Jeff Burton “we love guys from Coach Stiffler’s VCU program. They have winning attitudes, are well coached, and they are so comfortable playing here, about an hour from school. Zac Ching is a young man we sought out because of his past performance; his tremendous experience; and his versatility.  We couldn’t be more excited about having him wear the Tom Sox uniform.”

Ching is majoring in Computer Science at VCU.  Welcome to the Tom Sox, Zac Ching.
