The Tom Sox continued their hot streak on Saturday with a 4-1 win over the Harrisonburg Turks. The win officially secures a playoff spot for Charlottesville.

The game began as a stalemate through the first 2.5 innings until Anthony Lazar broke things open with an RBI single. The Tom Sox never looked back after that.

Following RBI’s from Pat McColl and Nick Bellafronto, the Tom Sox took a 3-0 lead into the 4th inning, where the Turks were able to secure their lone run of the afternoon off of a home run.

Hunter Gregory was able to keep Harrisonburg contained on the mound, striking out seven batters and only allowing a single run.

Charlottesville was finally able to put the nail in the coffin in the bottom of the 7th, where they increased their lead to 4-1 off of another RBI from Nick Bellafronto.

Cameron Weinberger dashed all hopes of a Harrisonburg comeback, striking out four batters and only allowing two hits.

After the win, the Tom Sox embark on another three game road trip before returning home to Charlottesville for their final home game of the season on Thursday.
