
Charlottesville’s Tommy Landsnes Earns VBL South Hitter of the Week
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Tom Sox outfielder Tommy Landsnes has taken home the honors of Valley Baseball League South Division Hitter of the Week, the league announced today (June 17).
Landsnes recorded six RBIs, including a home run on Wednesday, in three games played. Additionally, he notched two doubles and scored four runs at the plate.
Consistency was key for the left-handed hitter this week, going 7-for-13 at the plate and leading his team to a pair of wins.
On the season, he holds a 0.425 slugging percentage, which is good for third-best on the team. Landsnes has appeared in 11 of the 12 Tom Sox games thus far.
The Richmond, VA native is the first recipient of a Valley League weekly award this season for Charlottesville. He becomes Tom Sox player to be named VBL Player of the Week since outfielder Cade Belyeu and pitcher Ethan Sutton earned the honor in June 2024.
He joins prestigious air – In the 2020s, only four Tom Sox players have earned VBL South weekly honors.
Landsnes is going into his fourth season of college baseball, currently seeking the ranks of the transfer portal. He spent two years at Alleghany College, earning all-conference honors in 2025. In one season at Ball State University, he notched 12 hits in 24 games played.
Charlottesville will be back in action tonight, Wednesday June 17th, when it travels to take on the Harrisonburg Turks. The Tom Sox will be back at CHO Airport Field on Thursday for an inter-division matchup with the New Market Rebels.
