By: Bryan Portney
After the third full week of the 2026 season, the ‘Sox have been tearing it up on the diamond.
The numbers back that up in more ways than one. Check out the latest trends, advanced stats and category leaders in this edition of ‘Sox Stat Fax.
THE AIDEN HARRIS SHOW
There isn’t another hitter in the Valley League that has had the run like Aiden Harris has recently, as he currently leads the ‘Sox in batting average (.435), on-base percentage (.548), slugging percentage (.478) and OPS (1.026).
Harris leads the VBL South Division in batting average and is second in the Valley League in that category. He also ranks third in the division in OPS.
On top of that, Harris has recorded a hit in each of his seven games on the Tom Sox, tying the team lead with Lucas Ream (Shippensburg) for that hitting streak.
RUNNING DOWN A DREAM
The four-win week for the ‘Sox gave way to the squad’s prowess on the basepaths, especially thanks to Will Yow (Virginia) who scored eight runs and stole five bases during that stretch.
Xavier McCoury (Liberty) has soared to the top of the team’s stolen bases leaderboard with eight total on the season, tying for the sixth-most in the VBL South Division.
After receiving VBL South Hitter of the Week honors, Tommy Landsnes continues to lead the ‘Sox with 12 runs scored. His .375 on-base percentage has also given the squad ample opportunity to keep the offensive motor moving.
DAHLMAN KEEPS DEALING
Brandon Dahlman (Liberty) leads the Tom Sox in strikeouts with 26 and is second in the Valley League in that category, and additionally he averages 6.50 per outing.
Dahlman also has the lowest WHIP in the Valley League at 0.55, proving to be a key piece as he has also tossed over three innings per outing.
His strikeout-to-walk ratio sits at 5.20 (26 strikeouts and five walks) and ranks third in the VBL South Division and ninth in the Valley League.
MEASURING TEAM COHESIVENESS
As the season has progressed, the ‘Sox have proven to be more of a single unit in the field. The pitching and fielding backed that up on Sunday with the first shutout win for the franchise since 2024.
During the three-game win streak that started last Wednesday, the Tom Sox have posted a .973 fielding percentage.
The ‘Sox are also 2-2 this season when not committing an error.
The backstops of Dom Cafferillo (Georgetown) and Ben Cardone (VMI) have been pivotal in keeping the bases clean, contributing to throw out seven runners and allowing only 12 stolen bases in the last three games.
UP NEXT
The ‘Sox travel to face the Covington Lumberjacks on Tuesday, with the first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. EST.
