Former 'Sox Catcher Cooper Ingle Called Up by Guardians
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Former Tom Sox catcher Cooper Ingle is headed to the show!
According to Guardians Prospective on X, Ingle will join the ballclub tomorrow for a weekend series against the Seattle Mariners.
Ingle ranks as the 68th best prospect in baseball, and the third best prospect in the Guardians organization.
The lefty played three seasons with the Clemson Tigers, totaling 159 hits, 81 RBI and 14 home runs. Following his collegiate career, he was selected in the fourth round of the 2023 MLB by the Cleveland Guardians.
He made his pro debut that year, picking up 15 hits across 17 games played for the Lake County Captains. He quickly made his way past Lake County and joined the Akron Rubber Ducks in 2024. After ending the season in AA in 2024, he earned a promotion to AAA in the late stretch of the season.
After a slower end to his 2025 season, Ingle turned it on this season with the Columbus Clippers. In 51 games, Ingle hit 12 homers and drove in 41 runs while maintaining a .284 average.
For the 'Sox in 2021, Ingle tallied a hit in four total at-bats spanning six games. He was injured early in the season, but stayed with the organization to support the team and played some games down the stretch.
When he dons the gear for the Guardians, he will be the eighth player in team history to play in the bigs and will join Vinnie Pasquantino (Royals), Wyatt Langford (Rangers) and Trey Yesavage (Blue Jays) as former 'Sox currently in the Major League.
