Tom Sox Season Ends with 6-3 Loss in Division Semifinal

The Charlottesville Tom Sox took the field Sunday night in Waynesboro for a must-win Game 2 in the South Division Semifinal. After a valiant effort, the ‘Sox fell 6-3 to the Generals, ending their season.

Tom Sox Stay Hot, Take 2 from Cardinals

On Monday afternoon, the Charlottesville Tom Sox won both games in a make-up doubleheader against the Front Royal Cardinals. The ‘Sox won game one by a score of 7-2 and game two by a score of 7-1.

Tom Sox Stifled by Generals, Fall 9-0

The Charlottesville Tom Sox traveled to Waynesboro Tuesday night, finishing with a losing score of 9-0. The Generals dominated from start to finish, led by a one-hit, six-inning shutout by Seth Logue. The ‘Sox were unable to create any momentum in the game, only recording 3 singles and a walk.

Tom Sox Extend Winning Streak, Beating Harrisonburg Turks 11-6

The Charlottesville Tom Sox took home a second straight victory over Harrisonburg, winning 11-7. The Sox hot offense continued to dominate, scoring six in the third inning alone. The 11 run, 11 hit outing secured Charlottesville’s fourth straight victory.

Charlottesville Tom Sox Split Doubleheader Against the Winchester Royals

The Charlottesville Tom Sox took the field late on Father’s Day and split a doubleheader against the Winchester Royals, winning the first game 3-4 and losing the second one 7-0. A back and forth first game went into an extra inning, but a double from Wyatt Langford (Florida) gave Charlottesville their second consecutive home walk-off victory. The second game was all Winchester, resulting in a 7-0 loss.

Tom Sox Win Fourth Straight, Defeat Turks 8-5

The Tom Sox hit their way to an 8-5 victory Saturday night against the Harrisonburg Turks. The victory began a stretch of 13 games in 11 days for the ‘Sox, by far the toughest stretch of their summer schedule. A solid offensive performance aided the win, led by Ryan Dyal’s (Auburn) three RBIs. Improvement by Charlottesville’s pitching staff kept Harrisonburg bats quiet all night. The Tom Sox batters broke through with big innings in the third and sixth frames, all but securing a stress-free win.

Charlottesville Tom Sox Hand Staunton Braves First Loss of Season, Winning 5-1

After splitting Sunday’s doubleheader at Woodstock, the Charlottesville Tom Sox took the field against the Staunton Braves Monday night. A slow start from the Tom Sox was quickly forgotten after 5 runs in the fifth and sixth innings that secured the win. The Braves were able to get runners on base throughout the game, but the Sox’s pitchers were able to stop Staunton at critical moments, acting as the biggest difference maker.
