Tom Sox Partner with Random Row Brewing for Pour it Forward Event on April 12

The Charlottesville Tom Sox are excited to announce a partnership with Random Row Brewing Co. for the 2024 season, the first part being one of Random Row’s signature Pour it Forward events on April 12.

Randy Tomlin & Scott Stricklin Headline Charlottesville Tom Sox Coaching Staff

The Charlottesville Tom Sox announced today the hirings of former major leaguer Randy Tomlin, Georgia/Kent State head coach Scott Stricklin, Virginia Cavalier Kenny Towns, and current Mary Washington assistant Adam Dofflemyer as the team’s 2024 coaching staff. This announcement gives the Tom Sox one of the most experienced and high-level coaching staffs in all of collegiate summer baseball. Tomlin will serve as Head Coach, while Stricklin, Towns, and Dofflemyer will all serve as assistants.

Wyatt Langford Makes Rangers Opening Day Roster

It was only a matter of time, but the future is now. Texas Rangers Manager Bruce Bochy announced Friday that former Tom Sox star Wyatt Langford, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft, will begin his season on the Major League roster for the defending World Series champions.

Tom Sox to Hold Charity Golf Tournament on May 20

The Tom Sox are announcing their third annual Charity Golf Tournament, to be held on Monday, May 20 at Spring Creek Golf Club. Featuring a captain’s choice format, the Tom Sox invite foursomes and individual players for a 9 AM start (7:30 AM registration) at one of Golf Digest’s Top 100 American Public Golf Courses. The event joins the Poker Tournament (March 23 at Elks Lodge) as one of two primary fundraisers for the 2024 summer season.

Six Tom Sox Taking Part in 2024 Spring Training

Six former Tom Sox players are taking part in Major League Baseball’s Spring Training, being held across Florida and Arizona from February 22-March 26. The six players include four players who appeared on Major League rosters during the 2023 campaign, while two additional ‘Sox will appear as non-roster invitees for their respective clubs.

Tom Sox Announce 2nd Annual Poker Tournament

The Charlottesville Tom Sox announced their second annual Poker Tournament, to be held on March 23. The event will be held at the Elks Lodge (389 Elk Dr, Charlottesville, VA 22911) for the second-straight year, and will feature traditional poker alongside a silent auction.

Langford Named No. 6 Prospect in Baseball

2021 Tom Sox standout Wyatt Langford was named the No. 6 overall prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline, as revealed in an MLB Network special on January 26. Langford arrived in Charlottesville as a relative unknown in 2021 – taking only four at-bats in his freshman season at Florida – and became one of the nation’s best hitters following his summer in the Valley.

The Charlottesville Tom Sox announced dates for their 2024 summer camps. The popular summer camps make their return for three separate sessions in 2024, where kids ages 6-12 can get instruction from the Tom Sox's roster of elite coaches and players. 

Tom Sox Announce 2024 Schedule & Season Ticket Sale

The three-time Valley Baseball League Champion Charlottesville Tom Sox announced their schedule for the 2024 summer, as well as an early sale on 2024 season tickets. The 2024 schedule features an all-new format that exclusively features games against intra-division opponents (Covington, Culpeper, Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Waynesboro).

Former Tom Sox Pitcher Kyle Nicolas Called Up by Pirates

Former Tom Sox pitcher Kyle Nicolas’s contract was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates today, September 19. Nicolas’s callup is the Tom Sox’s third in the last month, joining 2018 teammate Evan Justice and 2017 two-way star Carson Spiers.

Carson Spiers Makes MLB Debut

Former Tom Sox pitcher/infielder and Clemson Tiger Carson Spiers made his MLB debut on Sunday for the Cincinnati Reds, starting on the mound against the Cubs. Spiers is the third former ‘Sox player to make his MLB debut, in the second player in two weeks.
