Tom Sox Take Game Two in Dominant Fashion, Setting Up Winner-Take All Game Sunday

The No. 1-seed Charlottesville Tom Sox squared off against the No. 8-seed Front Royal Cardinals in game two of the VBL playoffs first round, needing a win to stay alive. The ’Sox used a perfect recipe of stellar pitching and extra base hits to force a game three, coming out on top 11-1.

Tom Sox Split Sunday Doubleheader with Royals

The Charlottesville Tom Sox started a four day, seven game stretch Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader against the Winchester Royals. The ‘Sox started out the day red hot, winning 10-0 by run rule; but cooled down as the day went on, falling in game two 7-5.

Tom Sox Comeback Bid Falls Short in Loss to Rebels

The Charlottesville Tom Sox traveled to New Market Tuesday (July 18), looking to build on their offensive outburst during Monday’s doubleheader. It was another offensive day, with 25 total hits between the teams, but not the result they hoped for: a 10-8 loss.

Four-Run Fifth Leads Tom Sox to Win over Generals

After three straight days of rainouts, the Charlottesville Tom Sox made the trip out west to Waynesboro, looking to get back on track against the Generals. A four-run fifth inning highlighted by two big hits was all the ‘Sox needed, as they came out with a 7-3 win.

Tom Sox Fall to Cannons Saturday

The four-game winning streak for the Charlottesville Tom Sox is no more. The Tom Sox welcomed in the first-place Purcellville Cannons Saturday night, and the Cannons lived up to their place in the standings – defeating the Tom Sox, 8-2.
