Defending VBL Champion Tom Sox Release 2025 Schedule

The 2024 Valley Baseball League champion Charlottesville Tom Sox announced the schedule for their 10th anniversary season today (November 15). The 2025 slate features the return of inter-division play in the Valley League and an all-new playoff structure, plus numerous exciting matchups and a pair of championship rematches between Charlottesville and Purcellville.

Randy Tomlin to Return as Tom Sox Head Coach in 2025

Randy Tomlin, the 2024 Valley Baseball League Coach of the Year, will return to coach the Tom Sox for the 2025 season, the team announced Tuesday (October 29).

Tomlin Named VBL South Division Coach of the Year

Charlottesville Tom Sox Head Coach Randy Tomlin was named the 2024 Valley Baseball League South Division Coach of the Year, the league announced Monday (August 12). Tomlin earned the honor after leading the Tom Sox to the league championship and a league-best 26-13 regular season record. 

Six Tom Sox Players Selected to All-Valley League Teams

Six Charlottesville Tom Sox players were selected to the 2024 All-Valley League South Division teams, the league announced Wednesday. Of those six, five were named to the first team, while the 'Sox placed one on the second team.

Tom Sox Earn Fourth Valley League Title With 9-5 Win over Purcellville

After 249 games across the Valley League over the course of a 70-day summer ball grind, the fight for the Jim Lineweaver Cup came down to nine innings of baseball at Charlottesville High School on Thursday night. In front of an energetic, blue-out crowd, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (30-15) earned the franchise's fourth VBL Championship, knocking off the Purcellville Cannons (29-16) 9-5 in game three of what was a highly-competitive, back-and-forth championship series.

Tom Sox Clobbered by Cannons In Game Two of Championship

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (29-15) fell to the Purcellville Cannons (29-15) by a 21-8 final on Wednesday night at Fireman’s Field. It was a packed house for the Cannons, who hit two grand slams and scored the most runs ever by a ‘Sox opponent.
