Lumberjacks Rally to Defeat ‘Sox in Extra Innings

In what marked the fifth meeting between the two ball clubs this summer, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (18-7) and Covington Lumberjacks (10-14) squared off in a midweek clash on Wednesday evening. A late-game rally by the Lumberjacks forced extra innings where they secured a 7-6 victory in the 10th.

‘Sox Win Back-to-Back Games over the Braves

For the second time in two days, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (15-4) and Staunton Braves (10-10) squared off in a battle of two of the top three teams in the VBL South Division. A pitching duel took hold of Willie T. Barnett Baseball Field that saw four C’Ville pitchers hold the road invaders to two runs, earning the team a 6-2 win.

Belyeu’s Bomb Backs Tom Sox in 9-5 Win

On “Festivus Night” at the ballpark, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (13-4) were the masters of their domain, saying “no soup (or win) for you” to the Harrisonburg Turks (8-8) with a 9-5 victory. The Seinfeld tribute was a hit for the ‘Sox as they defeated the Turks for the first time this season in front of a nice crowd at Willie T. Barnett Field. C’Ville was backed by a Cade Belyeu (Auburn) three-run homer in his return to the lineup that highlighted a six-run bottom of the second.

Tom Sox Walk-Off Culpeper in 11th Inning

A balmy evening at Charlottesville High School set the stage for a heated rematch between the Charlottesville Tom Sox (8-3) and the Culpeper Cavaliers (2-8). Having lost to the ‘Sox twice already this season, the Cavaliers hoped to redeem themselves but came up just short in a marathon, eleven-inning ballgame.
