Lavey’s Walk-Off Homer Secures Win Over Generals

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (17-5) battled back in the ninth inning against the Waynesboro Generals (9-13) to earn a hard-fought 3-2 win on Friday Night at Charlottesville High School. Chase Stryker showed up big time with a career-high of seven strikeouts for the season, and Robbie Lavey sent the ‘Sox home smiling with a walk-off two-run home run.

‘Sox Win Rain-Shortened Game in Covington

After five rain-shortened innings, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (16-4) defeated the Covington Lumberjacks (7-13) 5-1 at Casey Field on Wednesday night.

‘Sox Win Back-to-Back Games over the Braves

For the second time in two days, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (15-4) and Staunton Braves (10-10) squared off in a battle of two of the top three teams in the VBL South Division. A pitching duel took hold of Willie T. Barnett Baseball Field that saw four C’Ville pitchers hold the road invaders to two runs, earning the team a 6-2 win.

‘Sox Slug in Sizzling Heat for 11-5 Win over Staunton

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (14-4) blazed through Saturday’s summer heat on the road against the Staunton Braves (10-9) after a fast start from the offense. Capitalizing on multiple errors, stolen bases, and a major home run by Johnnie Lopez (Seminole State), the ‘Sox earned an 11-5 win to maintain their stranglehold on the VBL South Division.
