‘Sox Drop Marathon Game in Staunton

On a humid evening at John Moxie Memorial Stadium, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (20-8) dropped a slugfest against the Staunton Braves (12-14) by a score of 11-10 in 11 innings. Despite multiple rallies throughout the contest, the ‘Sox fell just short in a four-and-a-half-hour affair – the longest contest by time in team history (4:35).

Charlottesville’s Offense Surges in Dominant Win over Waynesboro

A humid and hot evening at Kate Collins Field painted the picture for a sixth matchup between the top and bottom of the South Division — the Charlottesville Tom Sox (19-7) and the Waynesboro Generals (9-16). The Tom Sox used a dominant offensive showing - including a game-high five RBI from outfielder Jake Books (Coastal Carolina) to take home a 16-4, rain-shortened win.

Lumberjacks Rally to Defeat ‘Sox in Extra Innings

In what marked the fifth meeting between the two ball clubs this summer, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (18-7) and Covington Lumberjacks (10-14) squared off in a midweek clash on Wednesday evening. A late-game rally by the Lumberjacks forced extra innings where they secured a 7-6 victory in the 10th.

Tom Sox Earn Bounce-Back Win over Turks

Following a loss on Monday night, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (18-6) returned to Eagle Field to face the Harrisonburg Turks (13-9) for a redemption game on Tuesday. Charlottesville sought for a bounce-back and accomplished their goal, as both the batters and pitchers pulled their weight for a 9-7 victory.
