Charlottesville’s Offense Surges in Dominant Win over Waynesboro

A humid and hot evening at Kate Collins Field painted the picture for a sixth matchup between the top and bottom of the South Division — the Charlottesville Tom Sox (19-7) and the Waynesboro Generals (9-16). The Tom Sox used a dominant offensive showing - including a game-high five RBI from outfielder Jake Books (Coastal Carolina) to take home a 16-4, rain-shortened win.

Tom Sox Drop Thursday Matchup to Braves

On a night where 2-time Super Bowl Champion and philanthropist Chris Long threw out the first pitch, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (16-5) could not echo the buzz felt through the ballpark, falling 7-3 to the Staunton Braves (11-10) on Thursday at Charlottesville High School. Charlottesville fell victim to an impressive pitching performance by the visiting side, mustering up only seven hits and three runs, their fewest at home this season.

Belyeu’s Bomb Backs Tom Sox in 9-5 Win

On “Festivus Night” at the ballpark, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (13-4) were the masters of their domain, saying “no soup (or win) for you” to the Harrisonburg Turks (8-8) with a 9-5 victory. The Seinfeld tribute was a hit for the ‘Sox as they defeated the Turks for the first time this season in front of a nice crowd at Willie T. Barnett Field. C’Ville was backed by a Cade Belyeu (Auburn) three-run homer in his return to the lineup that highlighted a six-run bottom of the second.

Wiley’s Home Run Powers Tom Sox to Big Win over Waynesboro

A flaming hot night at Charlottesville High School set the stage for a rematch between two of the top three teams in the South Division — the Charlottesville Tom Sox (9-3) and the Waynesboro Generals (6-7).
