Five Tom Sox Selected on Final Day of 2024 Draft

Five current and former Tom Sox players were selected on the third and final day of the 2024 MLB First-Year Player Draft, as announced by their respective clubs on Tuesday (July 16). Included in the day three selections were 2024 ‘Sox outfielder James Nunnallee (UVA incoming freshman), 2023 pitcher Jordan Little (Virginia Tech), 2022 pitcher Wyatt Lunsford-Shenkman (East Carolina), 2022 infielder Christian Martin (Virginia Tech), and 2021 pitcher Chase Centala (UCF).

19 Tom Sox Named to All-Conference Teams

A total of 19 Tom Sox players, spanning seasons 2019-24, were named to their respective All-Conference teams this week (beginning May 20). Five of the 19 came from The American, while the remainder were spread out among other conferences near the east coast.

After a long season full of ups and downs and lots of rain, the Charlottesville Tom Sox knocked off the Woodstock River Bandits 6-2 to win their third Valley Baseball League Championship in the last five seasons.

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (30-16, 4-0 Playoffs), the 1-seed from the South Division, will face the Woodstock River Bandits (31-15, 4-0 Playoffs), the 1-seed from the North Division, in the best-of-3 Valley Baseball League Championship Series.
