  • Named to All-Bergen County team and was a All-Big North Conference selection as a sophomore in 2021
  • No. 11 overall player from New Jersey and the state’s top right-handed pitcher according to Perfect Game. Also a top-100 RHP in the country, coming in at No. 94 according to PG.

  • Son of Garett Teel and Janine Libutti
  • His brother, Kyle, was a three-year member of the UVA baseball team and was drafted with the 14th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox. Aidan and Kyle are the seventh set of brothers to play for head coach Brian O’Connor at UVA and only the second set to play on the same team (Jake/Zack Gelof).
  • His father Garett was a 11th round draft pick (318th overall) of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1989 draft. He spent five seasons in the organization both as a player and coach.
  • Has yet to declare a major at UVA

Tom Sox Face Turks for 2023 Valley Baseball League Championship

The 1-seed Charlottesville Tom Sox (32-18) will face the 2-seed Harrisonburg Turks (32-16) in a best-of-three series for the Valley Baseball League Championship beginning Thursday. Games one and three (if necessary) will be played at CHO Airport Field at 7 p.m., while game two will take place at Harrisonburg’s Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park beginning at 7:30 p.m.

DOWN BUT NEVER OUT: Tom Sox Complete Improbable Comeback to Force Game Three

After dropping game one of the Valley League Semifinals, the Charlottesville Tom Sox traveled to First Bank Park to face the Strasburg Express with the season on the line. In a back-and-forth affair, Charlottesville stormed back from a 9-4 deficit in the eighth inning with a slew of clutch home runs to preserve the season. 

Tom Sox’s Comeback Effort Falls Short in Game One Loss

After an eighth-inning comeback on Sunday night against Front Royal, the Charlottesville Tom Sox couldn’t capture the same late-inning magic on Monday, falling 8-6 to the Strasburg Express in the first game of a best-of-three series.

Tom Sox Set to Face Express in Playoff Semifinals

The 1-seed Charlottesville Tom Sox will face the 4-seed Strasburg Express in a best-of-3 semifinal series. The winner of this series will face either 2-seed Harrisonburg or 3-seed Winchester in the VBL Finals. Games one and three (if necessary) will be played at CHO Airport Field, while game two will take place at First Bank Park in Strasburg. First pitch for all games is set for 7 p.m.
