Tom Sox Clobbered by Cannons In Game Two of Championship

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (29-15) fell to the Purcellville Cannons (29-15) by a 21-8 final on Wednesday night at Fireman’s Field. It was a packed house for the Cannons, who hit two grand slams and scored the most runs ever by a ‘Sox opponent.

Tom Sox Walk Off Cannons To Take 1-0 Lead in VBL Championship

Sam Mummau hit his first home run of the season in the tenth inning to propel the Charlottesville Tom Sox (29-14) to a 7-5 win over the Purcellville Cannons (28-15) in game one of the VBL Championship series. The ‘Sox came from behind late in the eighth and persevered in front of a loud crowd at Willie T. Barnett Field to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. 

Tom Sox Fall to Cavaliers in Ninth Inning

A beautiful sunset backdrop painted the picture at Culpeper High School for a meeting between the Charlottesville Tom Sox (24-10) and the Culpeper Cavaliers (17-18). In an offensive shootout with five total lead changes, the Tom Sox fell in walk-off fashion to the Cavaliers, 6-5.

Tom Sox Extend Division Lead with Road Win over Turks

Ryan Wynn set a Tom Sox record with two triples as the Charlottesville Tom Sox (21-9) defeated the Harrisonburg Turks (18-10) by a 9-3 score at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday. Wynn drove in four of Charlottesville’s nine runs as they extended their South division lead back to two games.
