‘Little League Legend’ Henry Ford ready for collegiate debut (CBS19)

SUMMER 2023

  • Played in 35 of 52 games for the Tom Sox, starting 33
  • Led team in batting average (.316), slugging percentage (.588), RBI (24, tied), doubles (10), home runs (7), and total bases (67)
  • 7 home runs set a new single-season team record
  • Hit .500 with five runs, seven RBI, four doubles, and a home run before being sidelined with hand injury for three weeks
  • Over final 11 games, collected 16 hits (.421), 13 runs, 10 RBI, four doubles, and six home runs
  • Double, home run, and two RBI in debut at Covington (June 2)
  • Pair of doubles at Culpeper (June 4)
  • Two hits and three RBI against Staunton (June 6) before leaving with injury

Tom Sox Face Turks for 2023 Valley Baseball League Championship

The 1-seed Charlottesville Tom Sox (32-18) will face the 2-seed Harrisonburg Turks (32-16) in a best-of-three series for the Valley Baseball League Championship beginning Thursday. Games one and three (if necessary) will be played at CHO Airport Field at 7 p.m., while game two will take place at Harrisonburg’s Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park beginning at 7:30 p.m.
