Tom Sox Force Game Three with Bounce-Back Win in Culpeper

Tom Sox Clinch Division Title with Pair of Wins over Lumberjacks

The Charlottesville Tom Sox earned two victories on Friday evening, including a division-clinching win that capped off a long day of baseball at Willie T. Barnett Field. After completing the final 4.5 innings of July 9th’s suspended game against the Covington Lumberjacks with an 11-1 run-rule victory earlier in the afternoon, Charlottesville squeaked out a 2-1 win in the seven-inning nightcap to officially earn the top seed in the VBL South Division.

‘Sox Slug Past Staunton on Scorching Sunday

On a blazing Sunday afternoon at Charlottesville High School, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (22-9) topped the Staunton Braves (13-19), 10-4, on ‘Western Day’ at the ballpark. After the Braves struck early, Colby Wallace (East Carolina) powered the ‘Sox offense with three RBI as Charlottesville caught fire and earned another home victory.

Charlottesville’s Offense Surges in Dominant Win over Waynesboro

A humid and hot evening at Kate Collins Field painted the picture for a sixth matchup between the top and bottom of the South Division — the Charlottesville Tom Sox (19-7) and the Waynesboro Generals (9-16). The Tom Sox used a dominant offensive showing - including a game-high five RBI from outfielder Jake Books (Coastal Carolina) to take home a 16-4, rain-shortened win.
