Tom Sox Clinch Division Title with Pair of Wins over Lumberjacks

The Charlottesville Tom Sox earned two victories on Friday evening, including a division-clinching win that capped off a long day of baseball at Willie T. Barnett Field. After completing the final 4.5 innings of July 9th’s suspended game against the Covington Lumberjacks with an 11-1 run-rule victory earlier in the afternoon, Charlottesville squeaked out a 2-1 win in the seven-inning nightcap to officially earn the top seed in the VBL South Division.

Tom Sox Extend Division Lead with Road Win over Turks

Ryan Wynn set a Tom Sox record with two triples as the Charlottesville Tom Sox (21-9) defeated the Harrisonburg Turks (18-10) by a 9-3 score at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday. Wynn drove in four of Charlottesville’s nine runs as they extended their South division lead back to two games.

Lavey’s Walk-Off Homer Secures Win Over Generals

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (17-5) battled back in the ninth inning against the Waynesboro Generals (9-13) to earn a hard-fought 3-2 win on Friday Night at Charlottesville High School. Chase Stryker showed up big time with a career-high of seven strikeouts for the season, and Robbie Lavey sent the ‘Sox home smiling with a walk-off two-run home run.

Tom Sox Drop Thursday Matchup to Braves

On a night where 2-time Super Bowl Champion and philanthropist Chris Long threw out the first pitch, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (16-5) could not echo the buzz felt through the ballpark, falling 7-3 to the Staunton Braves (11-10) on Thursday at Charlottesville High School. Charlottesville fell victim to an impressive pitching performance by the visiting side, mustering up only seven hits and three runs, their fewest at home this season.
