The Charlottesville Tom Sox earned two victories on Friday evening, including a division-clinching win that capped off a long day of baseball at Willie T. Barnett Field. After completing the final 4.5 innings of July 9th’s suspended game against the Covington Lumberjacks with an 11-1 run-rule victory earlier in the afternoon, Charlottesville squeaked out a 2-1 win in the seven-inning nightcap to officially earn the top seed in the VBL South Division.

Tom Sox Earn Bounce-Back Win over Turks

Following a loss on Monday night, the Charlottesville Tom Sox (18-6) returned to Eagle Field to face the Harrisonburg Turks (13-9) for a redemption game on Tuesday. Charlottesville sought for a bounce-back and accomplished their goal, as both the batters and pitchers pulled their weight for a 9-7 victory.

Roldan’s Clutch Hit Helps ‘Sox Win Sixth-Straight

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (12-3) escaped Culpeper with a win on Wednesday night, squeaking out a 4-3 victory over the Cavaliers (4-11) thanks to some late-inning heroics at the plate by Tommy Roldan (Virginia). The ‘Sox have now won six-straight games and eight of their last ten, building on their VBL-best record and three-and-a-half-game lead in the South Division.
