• Played alongside former UVA classmates Freddy Beruvides Jr. and Tristan Head at The Benjamin School. Former Cavalier and current Houston Astros left-handed pitcher Bennett Sousa also played high school baseball at Benjamin
• Helped The Benjamin School to the District 3A-11 championship in 2023, the first since a Palm Beach County school since 2018.
• Ranked as the No. 8 outfielder in the state of Florida and the Sunshine State’s No. 47 overall player according to Perfect Game.
• 2021 Sun Sentinel Hitter of the Year
PERSONAL
• Born in Fort Myers, Fla.
• Son of Brian and Jill Buchanan.
• Is the older brother to Drew, Logan and Connor.
• His father Brian played for Virginia from 1992-94 and was a first round pick of the New York Yankees (24th overall) in the 1994 MLB Draft. Brian was the first UVA player ever drafted in the first round and was inducted into the Virginia Baseball Hall of Fame in the inaugural class in 2018.
• His mother Jill (Havlicek) played lacrosse at UVA and was a member of the 1993 UVA National Championship team. She was a 1995 Second Team All-Region selection and served as a team captain on the 1995 squad.
• His uncle Chris Havlicek was a four-year member of the Virginia basketball team (1991-94) and was the captain of the 1993-94 team.
• Walker’s grandfather was the late John Havlicek, Naismith Hall of Fame inductee and eight-time NBA Champion with the Boston Celtics.
• Has yet to decide a major at UVA.
