Bench Coach

Jim Darin will be returning to be an Assistant Bench Coach for the 2019 Charlottesville Tom Sox. Prior to helping the Tom Sox, Jim was the Assistant Varsity Coach at Monticello High School from 2000 to 2006, an Assistant JV Coach at Albemarle High School between 2007 and 2010 and has been serving as an Assistant Varsity Coach at Monticello High School since 2011.

Darin has coached several summer and fall travel teams for TEAMs. Jim has worked with the Dominican Baseball Camps program for the past the nine summers. High School players come from all over the United States and Canada and are coached by a guest college coach and Dominican professional coaches. Players immerse themselves in baseball and the local Dominican culture. Participants practice and play games against Dominicans.

Besides his work in baseball, Jim serves as an Administrator in Therapy Services at the University of Virginia Health System.
