Professional baseball is finally upon us in 2022, and that includes Minor League Baseball - where MLB’s next stars are developed. In 2022, Minor League Baseball (MiLB) will consist of four divisions - Single-A, High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A, and former Tom Sox players are playing in all four. There is also the rookie level, which begins play in mid-June. The Triple-A season began Tuesday, while the rest of the main divisions begin play today, April 8. Charlottesville Tom Sox Hand Staunton Braves First Loss of Season, Winning 5-1

After splitting Sunday’s doubleheader at Woodstock, the Charlottesville Tom Sox took the field against the Staunton Braves Monday night. A slow start from the Tom Sox was quickly forgotten after 5 runs in the fifth and sixth innings that secured the win. The Braves were able to get runners on base throughout the game, but the Sox’s pitchers were able to stop Staunton at critical moments, acting as the biggest difference maker. 

Tom Sox Host Braves in First of 2 This Week

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (2-1) will face the Staunton Braves (3-0) in their first of 8 meetings this season at Charlottesville High School. It will be broadcast live on the Tom Sox Facebook page and Tom Sox TV on YouTube. First pitch is set for 7 P.M.
