After a long season full of ups and downs and lots of rain, the Charlottesville Tom Sox knocked off the Woodstock River Bandits 6-2 to win their third Valley Baseball League Championship in the last five seasons.

After six hours and 28 minutes of baseball under the scorching hot sun, the Charlottesville Tom Sox ended their regular season with a doubleheader split against the Waynesboro Generals. The ‘Sox lost the first game at home 7-4 and won the second on the road 18-9.

The Charlottesville Tom Sox won 4-3 and 3-1 in their doubleheader today against the Strasburg Express, clinching a playoff spot for the sixth straight season.

It was a beautiful Sunday for baseball at Bing Crosby Stadium as the Charlottesville Tom Sox faced the Front Royal Cardinals. The Tom Sox swept the Cardinals with both games having strong defense and just enough offense to win.

Tom Sox Bring the Fireworks for Third Straight Win

The Charlottesville Tom Sox continued their hot streak from their doubleheader sweep to the Fourth of July, lighting up the Waynesboro Generals 17-4. The 7-inning run rule came into effect with the game ending in the top of the seventh, allowing fans to leave early for the fireworks. It was a dominant performance from the ‘Sox offense, compiling 14 hits with every batter reaching base.

Tom Sox Win Streak Ends Against Generals

After a herculean effort by Tom Sox players and coaches to prepare the Charlottesville High School field to be playable, the Charlottesville Tom Sox faced off against the Waynesboro Generals in search of extending the Valley League’s longest-running win streak. Although they picked up the momentum in the 8th inning, the ‘Sox were unable to catch up to the early lead gained and sustained by the Generals and walked away with a 10-2 ballgame. 

Hitting Woes Continue for ‘Sox, Fall 12-3 to Braves

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (3-5) fell to the Staunton Braves (4-5), 12-3, at John Moxie Field on Monday. The Sox started hot in the first inning but were unable to score a run for the remainder of the game, while the Braves had their bats swinging from the get-go.

Timber! Tom Sox Chop Down Lumberjacks for Second Straight Win

Following an electric come-from-behind victory against Staunton Monday night, the Charlottesville Tom Sox were itching to keep the bats hot as they hopped on Interstate 64 and headed to Covington for a matchup with the first-place Lumberjacks. The ‘Sox were able to put together a solid performance to topple the Lumberjacks to the tune of a 5-2 victory, thanks to elite plate discipline and a series of confident bullpen arms.

Tom Sox Fall to Lumberjacks in Home Opener

The Charlottesville Tom Sox fell 9-2 in their first home game of the 2022 season against the Covington Lumberjacks.
