The Charlottesville Tom Sox headed to Waynesboro to take on the Generals on Wednesday, July 21st. The ‘Sox pulled out a close one, with the only scoring coming from both teams in the fourth and fifth innings. Strong pitching to close the day allowed Charlottesville to hold onto their 3-2 lead and pull out another win.

The Charlottesville Tom Sox defeated the Waynesboro Generals 7-4 on Sunday, winning on July 4 for the first time. The Tom Sox and Generals have played every year on the 4th of July except for a rainout in 2016, and the Tom Sox were 0-4 all-time on the 4th before this game.

The Charlottesville Tom Sox faced the Staunton Braves for the second time in Crutchfield Park this week, leaving with another win, 6-2, powered by a hit-fueled second inning. The game was called early after weather intervened, bringing the Tom Sox seasonal record to 4-1.

Charlottesville Tom Sox Hand Staunton Braves First Loss of Season, Winning 5-1

After splitting Sunday’s doubleheader at Woodstock, the Charlottesville Tom Sox took the field against the Staunton Braves Monday night. A slow start from the Tom Sox was quickly forgotten after 5 runs in the fifth and sixth innings that secured the win. The Braves were able to get runners on base throughout the game, but the Sox’s pitchers were able to stop Staunton at critical moments, acting as the biggest difference maker.
