The ‘Sox pulled out a close one, with the only scoring coming from both teams in the fourth and fifth innings. Strong pitching to close the day allowed Charlottesville to hold onto their 3-2 lead and pull out another win.

Charlottesville Tom Sox Hand Staunton Braves First Loss of Season, Winning 5-1

After splitting Sunday’s doubleheader at Woodstock, the Charlottesville Tom Sox took the field against the Staunton Braves Monday night. A slow start from the Tom Sox was quickly forgotten after 5 runs in the fifth and sixth innings that secured the win. The Braves were able to get runners on base throughout the game, but the Sox’s pitchers were able to stop Staunton at critical moments, acting as the biggest difference maker.
