Three-Run Ninth Propels Tom Sox Over Generals

The Charlottesville Tom Sox (4-5) snapped their two-game losing streak Wednesday, edging out the Waynesboro Generals (5-5) 10-7 at Kate Collins Field. The hitting struggles continued for much of the game for the ‘Sox. At one point of the game, they had five runs on one hit. They were able to get the bats going a little, recording seven hits total. It was a back-and-forth game throughout, but Charlottesville held on for a much-needed win.

The Charlottesville Tom Sox returned home after falling to the Covington Lumberjacks on the road Sunday night, still awaiting the first win of the year. The weather has been perfect for baseball, but the Tom Sox’s offense has been anything but. That all changed tonight at Charlottesville High School, as the ‘Sox were able to clinch their first season victory, defeating the Staunton Braves 13-8.
