Tom Sox vs River Bandits Game 2 POSTPONED

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Game two of tonight’s doubleheader between Charlottesville and Woodstock has been postponed due to inclement weather. The teams played into the second inning before lightning stopped the game.

 

This is the 11th game postponed due to rain this season, and the 9th postponement overall.

 

The Tom Sox and River Bandits will attempt to make up the game. Further details are TBD.

 

The ‘Sox are off tomorrow, when the Valley League All-Star Game will be played in Front Royal. First pitch is scheduled for 6:55 P.M. They return to action on Monday, July 18, facing the Turks in Harrisonburg in a make-up game. First pitch is set for 7:30 P.M.

This announcement gives the Tom Sox one of the most experienced and high-level coaching staffs in all of collegiate summer baseball. Tomlin will serve as Head Coach, while Stricklin, Towns, and Dofflemyer will all serve as assistants.

Wyatt Langford Makes Rangers Opening Day Roster

It was only a matter of time, but the future is now. Texas Rangers Manager Bruce Bochy announced Friday that former Tom Sox star Wyatt Langford, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft, will begin his season on the Major League roster for the defending World Series champions.
