After dropping game one of the Valley League Semifinals, the Charlottesville Tom Sox traveled to First Bank Park to face the Strasburg Express with the season on the line. In a back-and-forth affair, Charlottesville stormed back from a 9-4 deficit in the eighth inning with a slew of clutch home runs to preserve the season. 

Late Comeback and Eggert’s Big Night Advance Tom Sox to Semifinals

The Charlottesville Tom Sox hosted the Front Royal Cardinals in the win-or-go-home rubber match of round one of the Valley League playoffs. The ‘Sox did not lead until the bottom of the eighth inning in which they rallied to secure a 4-2 victory and advance to face the Strasburg Express in the semifinals.

Tom Sox Split Sunday Doubleheader with Royals

The Charlottesville Tom Sox started a four day, seven game stretch Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader against the Winchester Royals. The ‘Sox started out the day red hot, winning 10-0 by run rule; but cooled down as the day went on, falling in game two 7-5.

The Charlottesville Tom Sox traveled to Covington to take on the Lumberjacks Saturday night, coming out on top in a 10-9 whirlwind victory that saw five lead changes, 25 total hits, and eight total errors. 

Tom Sox Fall at Strasburg in First Game in Six Days

After five straight days of rain cancellations and postponements, the Charlottesville Tom Sox finally returned to the field Saturday night to face the Strasburg Express on the road. The ‘Sox ultimately fell 4-1, showing some rust as they failed to generate enough offense to take down the new Valley League leaders. 

Tom Sox Deny Culpeper Comeback Bid to Win Fourth Straight Game

For the second time this campaign, the Charlottesville Tom Sox squared off against the Culpeper Cavaliers, and Charlottesville extended its winning streak to four, capturing an 8-6 victory.

Defense Struggles as Tom Sox Drop Third Straight

The Charlottesville Tom Sox took on the Strasburg Express tonight with a home field advantage but suffered their third straight loss, falling by a 5-2 final score.
