CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – In order to get all 44 games played before the beginning of the 2023 playoffs, the Tom Sox are announcing Tuesday (July 18) end-of-season makeup games to be played the week of July 24.
The twice-postponed home games against the Woodstock River Bandits, previously scheduled for June 16 and July 7, will be played as a doubleheader on Monday, July 24, beginning at 4 P.M. at CHO Airport Field. The Women in Sports Night promotion initially scheduled for July 22, will take place during the second game of the doubleheader.
Last Saturday’s postponed home game against the Front Royal Cardinals will take place on Tuesday, July 25, at 1 P.M. The game will be made up at an early start time in order for the Cardinals to play the Braves at 7:30 P.M. at John Moxie Stadium in Staunton.
Finally, last Friday’s rained out doubleheader at Purcellville will be made up on Wednesday, July 26, beginning at 4 P.M. at Fireman’s Field. Both doubleheaders will feature two 7-inning games.
The Military Appreciation Night promotion initially scheduled for July 15 will now take place on Saturday, July 22 against Strasburg. That game will take place as originally scheduled, beginning at 7 P.M.
The final schedule changes give the Tom Sox a stretch of 15 games in 11 days, which began last Sunday at Waynesboro.
